This painting was for Scientific American Magazine about an innovative medicine designed to supercharge a patient's immune systems antibodies to destroy cancerous tumors. These experimental therapies in their clinical trials have shown success with half of the patients experiencing tumor regression. It's exhilarating to illustrate an article with such potential impact. I've had family members and friends battle cancer through traditional treatments (chemo, radiation and surgery) with mixed results. I hope that this promising treatment will continue to be a success.
