I know a ton of illustrators. Marc Burkhart is one of the most level headed, good-hearted people I know. The bonus is that I think he's a spectacular illustrator. Glad to see him aboard. Once he changes the settings of his page to allow comments, we can tell him. Welcome.

Here is a new painting I just finished for Penguin. It's of a Masolino-like Madonna and child. THe background is real gold leaf. I get hired at least 7 times per year to do some sort of master copy. It is always worth the trouble becasue I learn so much in the process.

Timmy O'Brien- June 1982
I went to my mother's home for Easter this past weekend. That's sometimes weird. I spend the first several hours in my classic ornery High School punk mode; aggitated to be penned in, and going through all kinds of flashbacks. I eventually remembered who I was but it's just amazing how 5 minutes in my mom's house turns me into Timmy O'Brien.

This is a alteration to a cover I did for Congressional Quaterly that has been in a holding pattern for months. Usually news items can knock me off of a cover (I have a million stories, believe me) but today, with a minor change, it is back on. Oh, and it's great because I think DeLay is awful.
