Belatedly Some Recent Stuff
This portrait of former Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani was for The New Yorker. He is attempting to provide an ID to every one of India's 1.2 billion people!
I started off by listing a bunch of possible characters to populate a very populated scene. I wanted to show the crazy variety that is India, tho I've never been there.
Here's my tight sketch for Chris Curry, the AD on this one.
The piece was assigned as a full page and I first saw it on an IPad, where everything looks great and everything looks like a full page. The actual printed piece became a 1/3 page, one of those editorial surprises that happens every now and then.
Another recent editorial job, this one for Steve Charney at Rolling Stone.
These next two are also NYer pieces. This was a recent movie review for Margin Call, which looks like it will be worth watching (not always a given these days). For inquiring minds that's Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Irons, Simon Baker and Demi Moore
Lastly, this piece about Barry Bonds being led by the Feds into his trial for perjury appeared last Winter or Spring but the background was different in the printed piece. Here is what I had origianlly intended.
