I don't often get to illustrate posters (let alone design them too), so it's being wonderful to have worked almost simultaneously on three very different designs in the past few months.
The most challenging one, pictured above, was commissioned by the local Jewish Community Center for their annual gala Shalom on the Range. Besides de obvious western ingredient and a little bit of kosher salt, the poster needed to highlight -Win a Trip to Italy- as the event's great prize. Tricky recipe, right? Luckly the head chef, I mean the art director, already had a 1930s art deco idea in mind that made my job much easier

The second one came with the "just do your thing" challenge, which also made it very difficult. Designed for Ciclisme Priorat, a Danish company that organizes road bike trips to the Catalan wine region of Priorat, this project allowed me to have fun drawing bikes while at the same time experimenting with type and layout. The palette was kept simple and vibrant to compliment the company's purple and black colors.
Many thanks to fellow illustrator and bike lover, Michael Rytz for introducing me to the Priorat kids

Número tres is a poster for a quite unique comedy show down in Colombia called Ríase El Show (a play or words that could be read as Laugh. The Show or You Won't Believe the Show!).
My good pal and terrific actor, Julian Arango, has followed the evolution of my work and liked the retro-ish pieces I've been doing lately. We both agreed that the complexity of his show needed a very simple solution in this particular style that would convey sarcastic humor (or at least comedy) at first glance. The illustration was approved fairly fast so the challenge in this case was to find the right type and composition. In the end there are three different color versions of this poster that will be also used for the show's website, postcards, tee shirts and collateral material.
