Seeing Art For the First Time...Again

SEPTEMBER 17, 2006
Deconstructed
Last week I went to a local gallery opening and bumped into someone who bought painting of mine back around 1994.  She had moved away and come back to New york but apparently, the art still hangs on their walls.

What struck me was how completely different the art actually looked compared to my memory.  I didn't recall that much detail.  I  also didn't have any shots of it from when I painted it.  She took a shot of it and e-mailed it over.

I kind of like that...not remembering the work completely.  It makes one look at your own work with a new critical eye.  Compared to some of the other stuff I was doing at the time, this one wasn't so bad.
