ELEMENTS

JUNE 6, 2013
Kongde study- from the southwest

Last Saturday my second solo show Elements opened at the new Arte Verissima Gallery.
The gallery is part of the Arte Verissima project started by my friend and long time mentor Bruce Wolfe. The gallery had been a long time coming but finally brought to reality through the efforts of gallery manager Lauren Szabo. A painter herself (my former student at CCA), Lauren took the reigns of the gallery and got it going.
The show has been a year in development, but basically most of it was planned out in my sketchbook while I was in Nepal last year with Brian Stauffer. I managed to follow the plan and a year later had a show of most of the Himalayan Suite. I rounded the show out with a group of four local landscape paintings and a sculpture.

All these paintings were done on location except a few paintings which were worked up from studies done on location. I wasnt sure if this subject would attract any interest but so far the response has been quite positive.
