Waiting for the Sun

DECEMBER 21, 2007
It's the shortest day of the year. People all around the Northern Hemisphere anticipate the return of the Sun.
I look forward to this day. Even though experience tells me that the winter weather has barely started and that it's a good 3-4 months before I see significant green shoots and hear bird songs, I like to harbor the knowledge of the inexorable turning and tilting of my home toward the Sun. A metaphor for Hope I guess.

These pictures are from a personal narrative I'm working on (previously blogged). The story is mostly an excuse to joyously wallow in vectors while following a pair of interesting (and incomplete) characters as they explore a new land.
