This Land is Not Your Land.  A take off on Woody Guthrie and the teaser headline for Harper's cover story this month.   Thanks to the great Roger Black for giving me this opportunity, for a great read and a great discussion we shared over the phone prior to sketches and the final.   The story which takes place in Fremont, Nebraska, small town America, where industry has seen it's better days and people are nostaligic for decades long gone.  But things change as they do all over America.  A growing working class of immigrants has come and revitalied Fremont but the hometown folks can't accept this growing reality and a legal battle ensues as the Dream Act is tested.
To read this deeply important piece you'll have to subscribe to Harpers or pick it up on the newstand.  It's not for free nor should it be.
