What's the buzz?
SEPTEMBER 19, 2007
Dinosaurs probably couldn't hear the chirps and buzzes of insects around them. Did you know that? I didn't. But now I do. Oversized dinosaurs ears were tuned in to low pitched sounds like the booming of dino footsteps rather than the high pitched sounds of bugs. It all makes sense now. My kids cannot hear, "Please get ready for school". But they can hear, "Do you want more ice cream?". It's all in the pitch!
Another fun spot from Judith at SuperScience Magazine.
