	Gina and I started keeping a studio with our friends Martha and Andrea. This painting has been sitting around it so I could noodle between projects with Gina. I haven&#39;t yet had the chance to play much with depth of field, structural forms and pattern in this way with the collabo work, and this was a nice little diversion. Not scanned yet, so these are some snapshots. Now back to work on the real stuff.

	April Montgomery from Computer World brought this great article our way. On the face of it, our work doesn&#39;t scream technology. This, however, was an article on daisy chains and cloud computing. That&#39;s enough of a natural world reference for us. Gina and I made something we&#39;re quite happy with, and thank you to April for such a nice match up.

	Martha told us about another show, so we used the occasion to experiment with a few little paintings. These will be at Culture Fix Gallery: 9 Clinton Street, New York, New York 10002. The opening is tomorrow night, Wednesday the 24th from 7 to 9.&nbsp;

            <title>New Scientist</title>

		I always like illustrating articles for Craig Mackie at New Scientist. Their content is so far under the surface, and it gets me out of my bubble.

		For instance, this painting was for an article&nbsp;that describes how RNA can perform the role of DNA, which is to contain the information of life, and the role of protein, which is to build life. This means it, not DNA or protein could be the actual source of life on Earth.&nbsp;

		I had a fun time visualizing something that could both contain and build. I was glad when Craig let me go with this solution that I see as Sol LeWitt meets Dutch naturalist - with some polka dots thrown in.

            <title>A Person</title>

	&nbsp;

	It&#39;s been a while since I painted a person, and most of the time I like to just work on the paintings I do with Gina. Despite these two things I really had an itch to paint our daughter Juniper. I thought I&#39;d keep it straightforward and paint this one by myself. I know, I missed a major chance for some corny title like, &quot;Our Greatest Collaboration&quot;. That painting below with the circus mirror proportions is one of my figure paintings from when I was an undergrad, and since then I&#39;ve only painted a person once or twice. Not sure if I&#39;ll do it again. Maybe if we have another kid.

	Here are some books Gina and I have illustrated recently. The first four are ones we did together, and then one of Gina on her own.
