Summer in Sydney
posted:
I recently did all the illustrations for the Sydney Festival 2011. The festival is one of Australia's largest annual cultural celebrations offering a rich program of around 80 events involving upwards of 500 artists from Australia and abroad covering dance, theatre, music, visual arts, cross media and forums... Still best understood as a celebration of Sydney .
I had to draw many images of the diferent venues etc. but the representative image is the one with the cockatoos. If anyone is familiar with Sydney, they have seen the joyfull cockatoos flying around the city.
It was very exciting to come back from our holidays in New Zealand and find the images all around the city. The event is on January but there are tickets sold out already... It is quite popular!
You can watch the Virtual Brochure & TV comercial
Great to work with Julian Melhuish and Skye Houghton from Saatchi & Saatchi, they did the overall design and branding for the Festival. Also I got to meet all the Festival team which is fabulous, it is so good to work for the arts!

Here is a very amateur time lapse drawing one of the images for the festival.
