Robert Weaver (1924-1994) remains the most original and influential artist of visual narrative and journalism in the 20th century. Panelists include: Ben Katchor, Saul Leiter, James McMullan, Alexander Roob, Antonia Weaver Pelaez and others.
"The opus A Pedestrian View / The Vogelman Diary from 1982 belongs to the key works of American artist Robert Weaver. It consists of fifty-two individual gouaches in plastic sleeves filed in a ring binder. Weaver was a passionate illustrator and from the mid-1950s onward he ranked among the most seminal proponents of his discipline...His experimental late work, on which he had been working since the mid-1970s, originated free of any restrictions or speculations having to do with assignments – or art-market art – and in total artistic isolation."---Melton Prior Institute for reportage drawing & printing culture
