Recent work for The New Yorker

Here are a couple of images for The New Yorker along with some of the sketches.  They were published in the last few weeks.   Above is a portrait of Gustavo Dudamel, a Venezuelan orchestra conductor, for the Critics section of the magazine.  The sketches below show some quick gesture drawings, I was trying to find some dynamic poses:
This illustration is of a troupe of dancers from Buenos Aires, named Estampas Porteñas.  They will be performing with a live quartet at the Joyce Theatre from Dec. 18-Jan.6.
I thought this very thin shape would be difficult to compose, but it became a lot of fun to work with once I began the sketches:
