China Reform Covers

This is a new set of covers for China Reform magazine, published in Beijing.   I've been doing a monthly cover for them, working with Nai Lee Lum and Paul Mumby in China.  The subject of the first cover here is on the government's monopoly over business.   How the Chinese government needs to cut some of the ties so that the economy can take off.  Sketches below:


The second cover is about cooperation between the different provinces throughout the country, sketches below:


The third cover was for the issue welcoming in the new year.   They were looking for something different, something that would set it apart from the regular magazine and make it the "Annual" issue.   I was also asked to try some ideas with the numbers 2011.   It's nice to have a place to stretch out and try different things on a monthly basis.
