For The New Yorker

MAY 4, 2009
Little Ashes, a film about Salvador Dali, Luis Buñuel, and Garcia Lorca
These are a number of images I've done for The New Yorker magazine over the last couple of months.  They're part of the 'Goings on About Town' section in the front of the magazine.  I've done hundreds of images for this section over the last 15 years and they're fun to do because I'm always learning something new about artists, musicians, and upcoming films.  The first is for Little Ashes, a new film, the trailer is below:

Portrait of Yo Yo Ma, performing at The Museum of Natural History (brain scans were to be projected behind him during the performance)
Portrait of Jazz musician Joe Lovano
Featuring an exhibit of photographs of Rwanda in the Arts section
Soprano Jessye Norman in a performance that included the poetry of Langston Hughes
