NOVEMBER 29, 2010
This week, I'm headed down to Miami Beach for Art Basel and some of the other art fairs (Scope, Pulse), and other events that are happening around the city.  The trip has given me a good reason to set up a website for my gallery work, something I've been wanting to do for a while as a way to organize all the various projects I work on.  My illustration and design projects will continue to be at edelrodriguez.com.  Please check out the new site dedicated to my paintings and gallery installations herewww.edelr.com
Thanks to Zimm at Buglogic for setting up the web technology and to my studio assistant, Franzisca Barczyk, for designing the site.  I'll be adding more work in the coming year.  I'm looking forward to spending some time in the warm Miami weather and seeing my family again.  I grew up in Miami and it's always great to go back.   While down there I'm also planning on doing interviews with family for a book I'm putting together.
I thought I'd do a post about some of the paintings I've worked on this year and show some of the process of how they come together.   I generally work directly on the canvas without a sketch or underdrawing.  I start painting and see where the process takes me from there.  Below are photos from the studio, work in progress, and the gallery installations:
