China Reform Covers

The Value of the Yen

China Reform is a new magazine being published in Beijing.   The art director is Nai Lee Lum, based in NYC.  She's the former art director of Fortune International, where I had worked for her on occasion.   Nai wanted me to be the cover illustrator for every issue of the monthly magazine and showed my work to the editors in China.  They gave the thumbs up and I began doing these every month, so far I've done these three covers.   They've been very open to my sketches and to keeping the cover graphic and clean.  I like how the calligraphy and the imagery come together and look forward to the assignment every month.
