Louise Bourgeois died on Monday in Manhattan, where she lived.  She was 98.  Here is an article in the NY Times that discusses her life and career in more detail.  Though she is known for her sculptures and installations such as the bronze spider pictured above, some of my favorite work of hers were her drawings, which are very pure and direct.  Below is a small collection of these works on paper.  She'll be missed.
