This small journal is part of a small installation in a local Cleveland show of 15 woman. This body of work explores transition and the process of metamorphosis.
A few years ago I found myself absorbed for hours watching cocoons hatching at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. At the time, I was caring for a relative who had just had surgery and was recovering at our home. Injuries have a way of slowing time down and taking the time it takes to recover requires patience, tenacity and hard work to regain abilities again. The cocoon became a metaphor of inspiration honoring transformation as a natural process.
