I collect diagrams. I have stacks of old textbooks and science manuals, as well as shelves full of Popular Mechanics from the 40's and 50's.  Spring cleaning in my studio this year gave me a chance to put some of this stuff together.

The article was a mind-numbing drone on the myths and illusions of the insurance biz. In order to keep eyes from glazing over, this scenario of the sideshow huckster/wizard of oz type was whipped up out of thin air. Add some stars and summer night atmosphere and voila!

This turned out to be a lot of fun to work on. Not sure looking at it now that the 'smoke' works though.
