#Twitterpated

JUNE 28, 2013

From the Article:

“I, (@TwitterHandle), do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Internet against all forms of idiocy and moral defects, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to hashtags; that I take this obligation freely, possibly while lounging on the couch in my underwear, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the WiFi hotspot I am about to enter. So help me Google.”

A little cover story for the Washington Post for Marianne Seregi. This was a fun article about how ludicrous the attention and sometimes downright harrassment from the "Twitter Police" can be.

Again, started with probably too many thumbnail ideas. Just can't seem to stop, or make up my mind which direction to go. so send them all off, and hope something hits home. I have faves...10...13.... She picks 2 and 5.

I do a slighly tighter thumbnail to help her decide and throw in one of the ones I like as well.
She Likes five but wants some little clubs in their hands. This makes perfect sense so I do a tighter sketch and off to the final. We got a little breather on deadline and a good thing this little guy takes way more time than I thought it would. I finish the art Saturday morning. I know I never work weekends but had to get this one off the board and on to the next.  We have a little trip with the kids planned and want to make sure everything is ahead of schedule so if there are any changes I won't be working on them at the beach.
I like the clutter the gang of birds create. The blue is a bit out of my normal palette so I pull in some old paper and textures to try to warm the whole image up. I darkened around the outside to draw more attenten to the center, and that seemed to help as well.

Big thanks to Marianne for calling me on this one so much fun. She's such a joy to work with.
