We don't see much snow out here in California unless we drive up to the mountains. I know you east coasters are all buried right now, so I thought I'd post these drawings.
Angela Howard at Country Living magazine called about my sketchbook drawings. She'd seen the Maui sketches I put up here, but in this case they needed the "polar" opposite: cross country skiing. Specifically, romantic scenes of an older couple who's marriage has been cemented over the years by their shared love of cross country skiing.
These both ended up as full pages. Angela and the gang were a joy to work with. Below is the piece she really liked, and it happened to also get into the upcoming SI unpublished show.
SooJin just sent me this yesterday, a cover I did for PS last month. I just love her typography. It was for a survey of the best 401k plans, and it was a lot of fun to draw. There are, as always, a ton of great illustrations inside, including many a Drawger. A bonus is this also got into the SI show along with some other stuff.
